Nature’s Reflection

Because of the Lord’s  great love, I am not consumed,

for His compassions never fail, they are NEW every morning.

Nature is my love language.  I love to look through the lens of the eyes that I have been given and capture God’s nature and His creation that is on display for us.  That in itself is a story to behold.  Snapshots. Beautiful arrays of color in the landscapes and flowers blooming.  The majestic colors in the sunrise of a new day, the magenta colors of the sunset at the end of a day. Cascading waterfalls and butterflies fluttering by… Each and every day we are given moments to capture the beauty that is all around us.  Can you see it? I mean really see it?

Beauty is seen in the faces of each and every lady that walks in the doors of Embrace Grace each semester. They walk in a little unsure of what to expect and what to think.  Their thoughts and doubts may be…How do I react and what do I say?  Are they going to accept me for who I am, can I really be myself here?  Can I open up and tell my story and not be looked down upon or shunned?  If they only knew my past, would they still want me to come and be a part of this class?

Our answer is most definitely “YES!!!! You are always welcomed with arms open wide!  This is a safe place for you to be yourself!”

If only they could see themselves the way that God sees them.  We love to embrace them and show them God’s love, mercy and grace.  How He created them and knit them together in their mothers womb.  That each and every one of them are so special and unique and they have a story to tell, and so much of it is still unwritten.  The seed that was conceived in their womb that they are carrying is a gift.  That they have been chosen to carry this precious baby from God and we rejoice that they chose to give this baby LIFE!!

Every semester is a new journey.  We begin by introducing ourself and telling our stories as leaders and reassure the ladies that we have a past too. Although it may not be the prettiest package wrapped up and tied with a perfect little bow, that we too have experienced many hurts, pains, wounds, rejections and life circumstances that we wished could have saved from.  We begin to unwrap our package, our life, and reveal to them the good, not so good, sad and even the ugly times we have endured.  No, it’s not all pretty, but being real and relevant is the key.

They begin to learn to trust us and that many of us have walked in their shoes.  Yes, the shoes may have been a little size smaller or larger,  flats or heels, comfy or sooo uncomfortable, fun and sparkly, dazzling and bright, or just plain and simple, brand new or broken buckles and torn…  Regardless of the size, color or appearance of the shoes that our lives have walked in, it has been a journey that is worth retelling so that others may know that they have not walked this road alone.

That each and every step that they have taken has been leading them down a path and that we would like to walk along beside them during this journey of their pregnancy and lead them to the only ONE that can carry them and their baby through this life… JESUS!!

There may be times when they feel weak and vulnerable, and we can teach them how to cry out to Jesus and in our weakness He is strong.  There may be times when they feel alone, we can teach them how to reach out and Jesus will be the one holding their hand.  There may be times when they feel rejection, we can teach them that Jesus sees every tear. He will wipe away their tears and hold them as they cry. He collects every one of their tears in a bottle.  There may be times when they feel scared, we can teach them that Jesus’ perfect love casts out all fear!  There may be times when they doubt, we can teach them how to have faith and trust in Jesus.  There may be times when they feel unworthy, we can teach them that their value and worth is found in Jesus. There may be times when they feel unnoticed, we can teach them that Jesus loves to embrace them and sing over them.  There will  be times when they feel happy, we can teach them to sing to Jesus!

Throughout their pregnancy we love to reassure them that their emotions and feelings they are experiencing are normal and even expected. They are carrying the most precious life inside of their tummies and that their babies are worth it (every single bit)!  Some days may seem like you are on a carousel horse and you are gliding up, then down and you are spinning round and round.  Just hang on tight and before you know it your pregnancy will be coming to an end and a new beginning will take place and you will be delivering your baby. The moment that you lay eyes on your little miracle, something inside you springs up from your heart and a love that you have never felt before will overtake you and you will say “baby, you were worth it!!”

Today, May 9th,  my little one,  my son Logan is turning 5 years old.  He is growing so quickly!  I remember the morning my husband and older son, Landan, were in the car with me and we were on our way to the hospital.  I had little butterflies in my tummy, so excited to finally be able to hold our little baby boy that we had waited and prayed for so long (over 4 years) and to look into his eyes for the very first time.  Tears of love and joy flowed from our eyes the moment he was born and the nurse placed him upon my tummy and we gazed into his baby blue eyes.

This is the song that I always sang to him as a baby and would love to share it with you:

In my Arms by Plumb

Your baby blues
So full of wonder
Your curly cues
Your contagious smile
And as i watch
You start to grow up
All I can do is hold you tight

Knowing clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Story books are full of fairy tales
Of kings and queens and the bluest skies
My heart is torn just in knowing
You’ll someday see the truth from lies

Knowing clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Castles they might crumble
Dreams may not come true
But you are never all alone
Because I will always
Always love you

Clouds will rage in
Storms will race in
But you will be safe in my arms
Rains will pour down
Waves will crash all around
But you will be safe in my arms

Through all of life’s clouds and storms we pray that you know that you will be safe in the arms of Jesus.  Just as a mother comforts her child, so will He comfort you.

I will comfort you as a mother comforts her child. Isaiah 66:13

It is such an honor to be able to see through God’s lens into the hearts of these mommies and babies of Embrace Grace.  Each and every one of you touch our heart in a special way and our hearts expand more and more with each new semester. We just finished our 8th semester this past Monday by ending with our special day.  What a beautiful day that was! We were able to show them how God sees them.  To look in the mirror and see their reflection…

True beauty is seen in your faces and we hope that you can capture and frame in your heart the reflection of how God created you and sees you as HIS BEAUTY!  A perfect reflection of Jesus!

Therefore if any woman be in Christ, she is a new creature:

old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

2 Corinthians 5:17

YOU are BEAUTIFUL!! Nature’s Reflection that is given to you and your baby from Heaven above.

You have help me open my eyes to so many things, thank you for allowing God to use you in my life and in all the EG mama’s and babies lives! Thank you for helping us to see things clearer!

  2. I am a alumni of EG and I love how supportive the leaders are. Salinas story touches my heart because i love how she ties everything with nature and it truly does go hand in hand. In the short time that I have known Salina I can say she is a blessing from God. She has such an amazing presence and her kind and gentle spirit helped me to keep coming back to EG. Like she wrote, I was one of the skeptical girls and she helped me to believe :).
