Happy New Year!

mountainclimbersI can’t believe it’s now 2013!

2012 just flew by! We had such a great year and Embrace Grace had some monumental moments with becoming a 501c3 in October as well as signing the contract for A Bump in Life! Also, the curriculum for Embrace Grace to be implemented in churches is almost finished being written and just a few weeks away from turning in to be printed!

We have a lot to be thankful for and I really feel like this past year has been more like an adventure than anything. When you just let go and let God, the freedom in not having any idea what is around the corner but you know it’s going to be awesome is SO much fun!

I’ve been reading the book, Love Does by Bob Goff the past few days. It’s SO good so far and in one of the chapters he talks about going on an adventure with his 10 year old son. He let him choose wherever he wanted to go and he chose to go hiking the Half Dome at Yosemite Park. On the way up, Bob would have his son tethered to him by a bright red climbing rope. He would climb a few steps, kicking footholds into the snow and then his son would climb in his dad’s steps as they made their way up the steep slope. They were too focused, excited and engaged in the moment and on each step they took, to be afraid or worried about what’s ahead or below them.

Bob talks about how that is a lot like our adventure with God. “He guides us into those footholds with His strong hands while we’re safely tethered to Him by a bright red rope of grace, which holds us securely. Somehow in all this, the terrain we navigate doesn’t seem as scary either, because we’re on an adventure with God we’re too excited to be afraid and too engaged to be thinking of anything else.”

“Give your entire attention to what God is doing right now, and don’t get worked up about what may or may not happen tomorrow. God will help you deal with whatever hard things come up when the time comes.” {Matthew 6:34 MSG}

What if this next year, we truly lived each moment to the fullest, knowing God has us safely in His hands. God loves you so much and has such great and mighty plans for you. God chooses ordinary people like me and you to carry out his plans and purpose. Let’s pursue our dreams and live big, love big and DREAM BIG!

One of my favorite pastors, Bob Hamp, posted his New Years Resolutions and I just LOVED it! I want to frame it and put it in every room in my house!

This Year …
I will be fiercely true to the me that God created.
I WILL NOT LAY DOWN in the unrelenting war against my heart.
I will walk in my own story more than any other person’s story.
I will attack with ferocity the execution of the vision for my life.
I will do all I know to remain unguarded, while still guarding my heart.
I will love with courage, and not shrink in passivity.
I will learn to be truly vulnerable in my relationships.
I will laugh more and I will sabbath my soul.

Happy New Year to you from all of Embrace Grace!
