Stopping for the One

oneheartToday I spent a lot of time arranging for a sitter to watch the kids so I could go to an Embrace Grace meeting we started in a new town. It’s the second week and so far we’ve had one girl each week. It took me a little over an hour and a half to drive there when I dropped the kids off at their friend’s house. It took the same amount of time on the way back. For one girl! She is pregnant with twins but she was still the only one there with me and two other leaders.

I just want to say that this was my FAVORITE part of the week. We just hung out and talked. We talked about life, food, recipes and more food (she is pregnant with twins). It wasn’t anything fancy or special from the outside but on the inside, I saw Jesus.

It makes my heart warm and my face smile.

 And the King will answer and say to them, ‘Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.’ {Matthew 25:40}

If you look throughout the New Testament, Jesus stopped for one person many times. He allowed life to be interrupted to stop for that one person.

When is the last time you saw Jesus? If it wasn’t today, it might be a good question to ask yourself as well. Have you stopped for the one?
